Effect of shearing history on stress wave velocities of sands observed in triaxial compression tests

چکیده
For the accurate design of geotechnical structures subjected to static and dynamic loadings, precise estimation elastic wave velocities hence, small strain stiffness soil is essential. However, interpretation propagating in deformed/sheared has not been comprehensively explored. In this research, shear (Vs) compression velocity (Vp) measurements have undertaken on three kinds uniformly graded sands during drained triaxial by keeping minor principal stress constant. Planar piezoelectric transducers used overcome limitations associated with more commonly bender elements, such as distortion specimen shearing. This technical note reveals that increase major propagation direction a significant influence Vp comparison Vs. The axial (εa) at which peak Vs noted comparable εa dilation or phase transformation takes place. values show substantial drop after transformation, although there an mean level. increases even place, it dictates its evolution compression. Moreover, for given material initial level, specimens prepared different densities approach one another shearing later merge large εa.

15 صفحه اولInvestigation of Stress-Strain Behavior of Plastic Concrete Using Monotonic Triaxial Compression Tests
In this paper, the mechanical behavior of plastic concrete being used in the cut-off walls of earth dams has been studied. To do the task, triaxial compression tests on the specimens in various ages and mix designs under different confining pressures have been done and the stress-strain behavior of such materials and their strength parameter changes has been experimentally investigated. It has ...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
